A robot is a mechanical device fitted with A.I. that can fill most roles on stations, but it is likely they have to be payed to do so, as it has been shown that they have emotions and money. A common role for a robot is Station administrator, and indeed it has yet to be seen a non-robot filling that role (except in the original design for Station V3)
