Sunday, August 30th, 2015There’s another badly translated strip to see today when you vote for Station V3 at TopWebcomics!
On a related note, I recently found a Dave Clark Five album that was released in Taiwan in 1968:
Not sure how “official” this release was – it has songs from their US albums 5 By 5, You Got What It Takes, and Everybody Knows, with the cover from You Got What It Takes. It was released on “Large World” records (which uses the logo from Liberty Records), which (from what I’ve read) released records for American and Australian servicemen stationed in Taiwan at the time.
What makes it related to the bad translation bonus strip I just posted is that the lyrics on the back cover look like they’ve been through a similar process:
In case you’re unfamiliar with the song, the song really starts with “Two little villages on their own, each lord taking care of his own.” And the word “pharmacy” does not actually appear in the song. Oh well, at least the orange vinyl looks nice!
Bonus Update
Saturday, August 1st, 2015I’ve updated the bonus archive with the bonus strips from the past two years that weren’t in there already. (The recently added ones are at the bottom… You may have to scroll down a bit!) I noticed I haven’t done a “bad translation” bonus in a while – so vote for Station V3 today and see a bad translation of today’s strip!
