There’s a milestone reached in the Station V3 universe today – Silence in the Darkness on Q16 had its 1,000th strip go up today!
(Most of them are dark, and many are also silent – but there are 1,000 of them!)

Six years ago, Floyd thought a plant might cheer the station up, and Ebb listened to him make that observation. Now Floyd’s been rebuilt as a rumorbot, Ebb has been replaced with Neap, the original Plant is off in an alternate universe, and the station is apparently at the bottom of a swamp on a planet known as “The Celestial Orb With Soil On It” – and who knows what’s going to happen next?
(Well, of course I do, but I’m not saying yet!)
I hope everyone’s enjoying this year’s guest week, with contributions (so far) from Aaron Lewis, Robert Cook, and Wendy Wood!
In other news, Ebb’s Children actually updated today, and there’s a new episode of PodWarp 1999 up!
Well, Station V3 did end up in the top 40 on the Topwebcomics list in March – so there’s another new bonus (a bad translation of today’s strip) up now! And since the one before last was in December, I guess this does qualify as “sooner” like I said last month! (I would have had one up “even sooner,” but things have been busy lately.)
Some comic milestones – Z7 turned 5 earlier this month, and Silence in the Darkness on Q16 turned 2! And next week Station V3 turns 6 – time for another guest strip week, starting Sunday! (If you’re interested in drawing one, there’s still time to get one in for later in the week!)
Today’s strip had to have a monolith in it, of course.
Today’s strip is a double-sized daily update, to celebrate it being the 2000th strip in the archives – I hope you enjoyed it (and the other 1999)! (Some of those 1999 strips – as well as a few that aren’t online at all – can be found in An Experimental Space Pod Visits Station V3! which is on sale through this weekend for $8.99 plus shipping!)
And if you’re looking for more Station V3-related strips to read after that, all three spinoffs also updated today! (Yes, even Ebb’s Children!)
